Gulf Coast Academy, located in Fort Myers, Florida, offers a comprehensive Electrolysis/Laser & Light-Based Hair Removal Program designed to equip students with the skills necessary for a career in permanent hair removal. Students learn to safely and effectively remove hair from all areas of the face and body. This is a 320-hour state-approved program. If needed, payment plans are available.

Curriculum

You’ll master all three electrolysis modalities—galvanic, thermolysis, and blend—using professional equipment for precise, permanent hair removal. Laser hair removal training covers skin type analysis (Fitzpatrick scale), laser settings, skin prep, and safe treatment techniques. You’ll also learn IPL technology, including key differences from lasers, how to adjust settings, and perform IPL hair reduction and more.

The academy provides access to the latest products and equipment used in contemporary spas, ensuring that students gain experience with current industry tools and technologies.

Hands On Training

Gulf Coast Academy’s Electrology Program places a strong emphasis on hands-on training, which is a key part of preparing students for real-world work in esthetics. You will learn how to perform full electrolysis and laser based treatments and learn how to tailor treatments to different skin types and conditions.

Certification and Licensing Preparation

The program prepares students for state licensing exam required to become a licensed electrologist.
